Wise, Respected, Faithful & Insightful
Janie Walker has been a trusted spiritual leader in Richmond for many years. When her name is spoken it is usually coupled with words like "powerful preacher, trusted spiritual director, wise mentor, community leader, thoughtful organizer and respected minister". Janie has been invaluable to me as a spiritual director and mentor, and I have witnessed her leadership in community and in worship. Janie brings people together with honesty, compassion and clarity. Anyone who calls upon her gifts in ministry will be blessed indeed.

A reconciling leader
Rev. Walker has been a trusted mentor, pastoral confidant, counselor, and friend to me over my years in Richmond. As a young white woman desiring to follow God into the work of racial healing in our community, Rev. Walker was a needed authority, guide, and counsel to me. I love her even confidence, her deep love, her steady perspective, and her strength. She is a leader through and through and one that has brought people together during dividing times.

A Strong Woman of God
When I think of Janie, the first phrase that rises up in my spirit is "a strong woman of God." She truly embodies the grace, dignity, determination, fearlessness, and wisdom that expression evokes. Living in community with her offers me the opportunity to experience her presence in various roles. She serves broadly as a Pastor to all connected with Richmond Hill. Within this work, she expresses her gifts as a highly skilled and attentive administrator, a prudent counselor, mentor, and spiritual director, a gentle and knowledgeable teacher and preacher, and an aide to all in need wherever needed. Those who encounter her are blessed by her anointing to the glory of God. Amen.

A Wise Guide
I have known Janie Walker since 2008. She and I worked together when I was shifting my faith-based non-profit toward a community development focus. Janie helped develop our leadership training materials and also launched a worship service for some of our community residents. It was Janie's wise council that helped shape the vision and mission of Embrace Richmond during one of the most crucial times in our history.
When Janie left our team, she continued as my spiritual director. As an Executive Director, I often feel overwhelmed and alone. Janie has helped me gain perspective and refocus my energy in a way that is most life giving to me personally and to my organization. Her still, calm presence helps me to slow down, listen to the spirit, and discern with greater clarity how to move forward during both difficult and promising times.
I highly recommend Janie as a spiritual director, teacher, preacher or speaker.

Spiritual leader, Pastor, Teacher
Credentials Evidenced:Council President of Richmond Hill, Dean of RUAH School for Spiritual Guidance
Through my time at Richmond Hill over the last 19 years I have come to know Janie Walker well and have worked closely with her as faculty member in The RUAH School for Spiritual Guidance and on the Council of Richmond Hill. She is a strong and deeply spiritual woman of faith with many gifts. Janie is a compassionate and caring leader of the Richmond Hill staff and community of residential members. Her knowledge and understanding of scripture comes through her powerful and profound preaching. She is well known and respected throughout the Richmond Metro area as a prayerful faith leader, as a spokesperson for racial healing, and social justice. Janie is a natural teacher particularly in regards to scripture, social justice, and the power of healing through forgiveness. It is a blessing to have worked with her over these many years. I have learned a lot from her and grown on my own spiritual journey as a result.
Crystal has been one of the most skilled and flexible faith leaders with United Faith Leaders for years! She has served many of our visitors and everyone has been very happy with their experience. You can trust her to be outstanding, professional and even fun (when appropriate)! If she does not have a scheduling conflict then definitely get her in contract to help with your need.

Skilled in many areas
Kayla and I were in seminary together and worked together following graduation. She was dedicated in both places. Kayla is an effective preacher. I have kept one of her sermons that she gave to a congregation because it spoke to me - it has been a resource of comfort and a catalyst of introspection. We have served together as chaplains and worship leaders, where she has ministered to those who needed a knowledgeable and trustworthy listener. She has the ability to connect quickly with families whether in joy or sorrow.

Kayla has conducted several funeral and memorial services for families served by our three-location funeral home. She has consistently performed so wonderfully that she is the only clergy we use when a family asks us to find Protestant clergy for them. Reviews from our professional staff and from families have been excellent, without exception or deviation. She conducts in-depth consultations with family about their loved one and provides a service so personal that those attending think she has known the person for years prior to death.

Kayla was the icing on the cake at our wedding! She took time to get to know our story, gathered our input, and added personal touches to make the vows more meaningful. We loved her delivery of the vows - calm, caring, reassuring - in that slight NC accent! She was prepared, flawless, and everyone came up to us after asking where we found her. She truly made our night special, and we couldn't recommend her enough!
Dr. Paula Parker is an esteemed mentor with important insights gained through her doctoral studies, pastoral care, teaching, and rich experience. She carries powerful knowledge which she delivers through her book, Roots Matter, and her ministry by the same name. If you can secure her for one-on-one spiritual guidance or as a speaker then you should. In any case, read her book (and listen to her interview on The Coffeepot Fellowship Podcast). Dr. Parker's work with Roots Matter is important for everyone because everyone's family has trauma and everyone's trauma needs to be redeemed for its survivors.
Rabbi Patrick is a very accomplished pastor, writer, speaker, musician, entrepreneur, and community leader. Get Patrick for your family life cycle events personally or bring him in for religious discussions. He is a magnetic, lively, incisive personality who is comfortable in difficult or complex situations. I love Rabbi Patrick for interfaith panels! He is NOT your stereotypical, stodgy rabbi.
I've worked with Kerra in various capacities and am happy to endorse her with enthusiasm for very wide ranging audiences. Kerra has an open mind and a heart to serve diverse souls. She is kind, professional and fun to be around.
